Thank you for visiting our website. There may be several reasons you have contacted us. Perhaps you are struggling and are living without hope. You may be sensing an emptiness in your life. You may be burdened with the wrong things you have done and are longing for complete forgiveness. You may have within you a hunger to know God. We desire to be messengers of good news, the news that through Jesus Christ, you can have forgiveness, hope and live with purpose and joy. Our theme verse for Women Alive is the very words of Jesus Christ taken from the gospel of John (10:10). "I am come that you might have life and have it to the full."
God's prime purpose in our world and in your life is that you might recognize the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and develop a personal relationship with Him and thereby experience this abundant life He offers you. Every person who has come to Jesus Christ has recognized the importance of the following truths explained in God's letter to us, the Bible. I invite you to find a Bible in a version that is easy to understand (several suggestions are: The New International Version, the New King James or the New Living Translation - Tyndale) and look up these references for yourself.
1. God loves you and desires you to know and trust Him.
1 John 4:9,10 "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
John 3:16, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2: 4,5, Jeremiah 31:32. All people are separated from God because of the wrong things they have done, said or thought. No one has lived without sinning against God.
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Isaiah 53:6 " We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way and the Lord has put upon Him the iniquity of us all."3. The Lord Jesus is the only way to God. He came to earth as a baby, lived His life among us and then died for the sins of all people for the express purpose of providing a way back to God, the Father. On the cross He willingly took the punishment for the sins we have committed. God was fully satisfied with His sacrifice on our behalf and now Jesus Christ offers us complete forgiveness and eternal life.
John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Ephesians 2:13 "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ."
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed."
2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."4. This is a free gift to us. We are not able to earn this gift or work out our own salvation.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Ephesians 2: 8,9 "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works so that no one can boast."5. No gift is ours unless we receive it. God offers you this free gift and awaits your response. Express to God your need and longing for forgiveness. Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the way to God and that He alone can offer forgiveness and eternal life. By faith, reach out for this gift and take it. It is yours.
John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, he has passed from death to life."
6. You are now a child of God and nothing can separate you from Him.
John 10:28 "I give them eternal life and they shall never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand."
Romans 8:31-397. When you receive the gift of eternal life, part of God, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you. His role is to guide, comfort, teach and help you in your journey of faith. God desires that you grow in your faith and develop this personal friendship with Jesus Christ.
John 14:26,27 "The Counselor, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you."
Tell us! We would like to do whatever we can to help you in your spiritual growth. Let us know if you have invited Jesus to forgive your sins and become your Saviour and Lord. Email us at info@womenalive.org.
We suggest you set time aside each day to develop this friendship with God. Start to read your Bible and if possible attend a Bible Study and a local church near you so that you can be strengthened. It is important that you are encouraged by those who also know the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour and who are studying the Bible.
Our prayer for you is found in Ephesians 1:17-19
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may
give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know him better.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may
know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance
in the saints and the incomparably great power for us who believe."
Our thanks to the author, Ruth Bauman-Wight, former Ontario Regional Director
